Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization Project: Public Transit

Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization Project

SANDAG is working to stabilize the bluffs along the railroad tracks within the North County Transit District railroad right-of-way. Most of the work will occur within the area where 11th and 15th streets would intersect the tracks. Two smaller areas, one near 8th Street and another at Anderson Canyon just north of Torrey Pines State Beach, also will be stabilized.

An informational Open House was held on February 22, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Del Mar City Hall Annex to present the schedule and process for stabilizing the bluffs along the railroad tracks in Del Mar.

Work commenced on May 21, 2007, at the north end of the project at Ocean Avenue and has proceeded south to 8th Street and Anderson Canyon.

As of February 2008, the project is 99% complete with only minor repair work and hydroseeding left to be finished. This remaining work will be accomplished during daylight hours.

Additional details on the project, including the proposed work schedule, are available below as downloads in PDF format.
